‘An Evening with The Danish Pioneer’ planned for Saturday, December 7, 2013 in Maryland
Exhibit from the Museum of Danish America highlights “The Danish Pioneer Newspaper” –
A joint event for members only of the Danish Club of Washington, D.C. and the American Scandinavian Association will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013 starting at 7:30 p.m. in Maryland. Members will have the chance to come and enjoy an evening in the company of the Danish-American newspaper “The Danish Pioneer.”
An exhibit on loan from the Museum of Danish America tells the story of the paper from its beginnings in Omaha in 1872 to the current publication based in Chicago. The newly-established digital library of Danish-American newspapers will also be discussed and there will be visitors from the Museum, who will give an introduction to the Museum of Danish America, which is located in Elk Horn, Iowa.
