200 companies account for half of the Danish exports

More than half of Denmark’s exports of goods come from fewer than 200 large enterprises in the manufacturing and wholesale trade. Large companies with more than 250 employees accounted for 54 per cent of exports in 2012, although they represented only 2 per cent of exporting firms. In 2005, they accounted for 50 per cent of exports.

In that time, the big companies exporting to the BRIC countries, Brazil, Russia, India and China, have increased 160 per cent, while small and medium-sized enterprises have had an increase of just over 90 per cent.

According to the feature in the Danish Statistical Ten-Year Overview 2014, the article focuses on the globalization of Danish companies over the last decade. The ten-year overview gives a unique overview of developments in the Danish society in the same period and the overall development of Danish exports of goods over the last decade.

The Danish Statistical Ten-Year Overview also reports:

* The private schools have received 38 per cent more pupils in secondary schools 8th-10th class during the last ten years, while the government has only received 6 percent more in class. 22 per cent chose an After School.
* Both couples and single parents have had greater increases in their disposable income during the ten years than single people without children. Couples with children had the largest increase of 53 per cent  from 2002 to 2012.
* The Danes visited on average their doctor 7.2 times in 2013. This is 13 per cent more often than a decade ago. The dentist is however visited less often than in 2003.
* Both men and women are pursuing far more in higher education than ten years ago. Now it is one in two women and one in three men aged 35.

* Danskerne besøgte i gennemsnit deres praktiserende læge 7,2 gange i 2013.
