7-9-13 resulted in a marriage record in September in Denmark
2013 was the year that included the “magic” date 7-9-13 in Denmark. Yet fewer people got married than both the previous year and the average for the last ten years, according to Danish Statistics. The “magic” date, however, managed to advance the favorite month for weddings to September, when it is usually August where marriages are most popular.
Every third couple was married in a church in 2013, and it is far fewer than in the past, although a new type of marriage has emerged: Since June 2012 it has been possible for two people of the same sex to marry in the church. This made 363 pairs in 2013, of which by far the most are female.
These figures and many more on the Danish population can be found in the publication Population Trends in 2013, published October 24, 2014 In addition to providing a portrait of the present, the book describes what has gone before with a number of developments over a number of years.
You can read that:
* There have been fewer births in Denmark in the last five years. In 2013, 55,873 children were born, and it is 10% less than the average for the past ten years.
* In 30 years, the Danish average age has increased from 37.6 to 40.9 years and continues to increase. According to Danish Statistics, the average age of the Danish population will be 43.8 years in 2050.
* The size of the Danish households has decreased over the past 30 years, both because fewer consists of at least four people, and because more people live alone.
* 72% of all children under 18 live with both their parents. Only 4% live with their father, who is single or in a new relationship.
* In every 11th divorce, the couple has married for at least 25 years.
DANISH VERSION:
7-9-13 gav vielsesrekord i September i Danmark
