
2014 Danish Christmas Bazaar set for Saturday, November 8th in Rockville, Maryland
Saturday, November 8th marks the date for the Danish Club of Washington, DC’s Annual Danish Christmas Bazaar 2014.
The Club’s annual Danish Christmas Bazaar is a showcase of Danish culture and tradition and has enjoyed a strong following.
The Danish Christmas Bazaar will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014, from 11 am to 3 pm, at Saint Elizabeth’s Church, 917 Montrose Road, Rockville, Maryland.
The first Bazaar took place in 1963 at the old Washington Hotel in DC.
The Bazaar has also enjoyed the sponsorship of the Royal Danish Embassy and has traditionally been opened by the Danish Ambassador.
Guests of the Bazaar can enjoy an authentic Danish lunch and holiday shopping for goods imported from Denmark or handcrafted by Club members. Many of the Danish items simply cannot be found elsewhere in the metropolitan area.

The Danish Club of Washington, D.C. was formed in 1931 by Wilhelm Buck.
It was primarily formed to preserve and foster Danish traditions and culture.
The Club has approximately 285 members of all age groups.
The Club hosts events for members throughout the year, including social nights and events to celebrate Danish holidays.
The Danish Christmas Bazaar features:
* Exhibit for the museum of Danish American traveling collection, Danish Gymnast in America.

* Aebleskive demonstration and sampling of this Danish delicacy.
* A restaurant and carry-out serving Danish open-faced sandwiches and authentic Danish pastry.
* A bakery booth selling authentic fresh baked Danish pastry and cookies.
* A Christmas booth selling Christmas decorations, candles, and more.
* A China and jewelry booth selling Danish porcelain, amber jewelry, and other Danish imports.
* A delicatessen selling Danish candy, marzipan, canned goods, liver pate, and much more.

* A greenery booth selling traditional Danish Christmas table decorations.
* A beer booth serving Danish Carlsberg Beer.
* A children’s booth with entertainment for kids and information about the Danish School.
* An information booth with brochures and other literature about Danish organizations in the U.S.
* A popular raffle with many prizes sponsored by Danish companies and Danish business in the U.S.
