“Nordic Cool 2013” at the Kennedy Center — 

From February 19 to March 17, 2013, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. presents an unprecedented festival celebrating the diverse arts and cultures of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, as well as Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and the Åland Islands. The festival features more than 750 artists from the Nordic countries in dozens of performances, exhibitions, forums, tastings, and other events. The Kennedy Center’s evening exhibition, titled Northern Lights will project the famed aurora borealis on all four walls of the Center’s facade from 5:30 pm to 11:30 pm daily from February 19 through March 17. Best viewings are from the Roosevelt Bridge or Washington Harbor. Nearly one dozen art exhibitions will fill the Grand Foyer, Halls, Terrace level, and exteriors of the Kennedy Center during its three-week Nordic Cool 2013 festival.
