Danish and Norwegian Students Looking for Host Families in the United States
How can you become a Host Family for the World Heritage Foreign Exchange Program, including students from Denmark and Norway?
Bloomingdale, Illinois resident Vivi Frumkin, who is originally from Denmark, is a local representative of The World Heritage Student Exchange program, which is currently seeking local host families for high school boys and girls from Denmark and Norway.
The World Heritage organization is dedicated to promoting closer ties of friendship between participating countries by fostering intercultural understanding through youth exchange programs. In the United States, World Heritage is a member of the Alliance for International Educational and Cultural Exchange and its programs are conducted in accordance with the standards established by the council on standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET).
“I would love to be able to give these student the opportunity to spend a year in USA,” says Vivi. “Their natural parents pay their airfares and send them pocket money. The host family pays/provides room and board. Host family can also deduct in their taxes $50 for every month they host. Couples, single parents, and families with & without children in the home are all encouraged to host.”
Each World Heritage student is fully insured, brings his/her own personal spending money and expects to contribute to his/her share of household responsibilities, as well as being included in normal family activities and lifestyles.
