Wood Wood Clothing Brand evolves as one of the A-List High Fashions of Denmark
By Nina Miller Sanchez, Fashion Buzz Now, Staff Writer for The Danish Pioneer Newspaper –
Wood Wood Clothing Brand hails from three design students from the Royal Design School of Denmark. They originally set out to do a small collaboration making tee-shirts and selling sneakers and toy collector items among other things.
They first started in 2002 and over time have evolved as one of the A-List High Fashion Brands of Denmark and other parts of the world.
This season’s SS/14 Collection is named “Utopia” and that was as clear as day when entering the Glyptotek museum which holds Mediterranean, Danish and French art. By the way it is right across the street from one of the oldest amusement parks – Tivoli.
The collection reminded me of school spirt and team uniforms that you would find at an elite boarding school far far away, perhaps in a futuristic sort of a way. Which is exactly what they were going for when they choose the prints using marble, stone, terrazzo and pyrite. They also used a mix of lightweight materials and heavy wools in the women’s collection. For the men’s line they concentrated on sports and used technical materials keeping in mind functionality.
They went all out when choosing these fine materials such as mohair, cotton, brocade and Japanese wool.
Lots of blues and whites with classic and modern details that reflect the welcoming of a new season.
