New ‘Denmark on the Prairie’ Documentary on Elk Horn, Iowa to be shown on TV in Denmark on August 28, 2013

Lisa Steen Riggs, Manager of the Danish Windmill in Elk Horn, Iowa, informs The Danish Pioneer Newspaper that the American Danes in the Danish Villages in western Iowa will soon be featured on TV in Denmark. 

After weeks of filming the American Danes in the Danish Villages, the show has dates and times for viewing in Denmark.

The name of the documentary is: Danmark på prærien (Denmark on the Prairie).

It will be shown on August 28th, 2013 at 8 pm for 58 minutes and 30 seconds on DR1 (Denmarks Radio 1), a Danish national television channel.

Re-runs will be shown on:

September 11, 2013 – Noon

September 15, 2013   –  4:25 pm

October 26, 2013  –  9 am

DR1 will be showing advance trailers – but they have not been produced yet.
