#2 The Danish Pioneer’s Countdown to Christmas 2014: Danish American Society plans Christmas Party in Stamford, Connecticut on Sun., December 14
The Danish American Society is planning its annual Danish American Christmas Party on Sunday, December 14, 2014 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Morgan, Caritas Island, 140 Wallacks Drive, Stamford, CT 06902. (Please note that the venue for the party has changed since the Save the Date was sent.)
Come enjoy a true traditional DANISH Christmas Buffet with Marinerede Sild, Leverpostej, Flæskesteg, Brunede Kartofler, and Ris-a-la-mande etc. including beer, wine, and schnapps.
Participants will dance around the Christmas Tree singing all the old songs in Danish and English, listen to a lovely Christmas Story and expect a visit from Santa / Julemanden.
Please bring a small wrapped gift with a name tag for your child/children so Santa can be sure to bring what you want him to bring them.
Children are also invited to participate in the Lucia song and procession. Please let DAS know if your child would like to join in this tradition.
The Danish American Society is pleased to offer a special ticket price for members. If you have not yet renewed your Danish American Society membership this year, the Danish American Society would be grateful if you would do so now. Your support and participation means a great deal to the Danish American Society.
There are a limited number of tickets so please reserve today! Your name will appear on the guest list when you arrive. No tickets will be mailed out. To pay for your tickets and membership by credit card, please go to https://danishamericansocietychristmasparty.eventbrite.com.

ABOUT THE DANISH AMERICAN SOCIETY: Since 1959, when the Danish American Society (DAS) was incorporated as a non-profit, non-political membership organization, it has pursued the goal of promoting friendship and understanding between the peoples of Denmark and the United States. This objective has been served through the Society’s involvement in a wide range of cultural, social and educational programs and events, expanding Danish-American ties in a shrinking world. In 1983 The Society established a scholarship program that has assisted many young performing artists of both countries. Called D.A.N.C.E. (Danish American National Cultural Exchange), and inspired by ballet virtuoso Peter Martins, the program brings young Danish artists to the United States and sends young American artists to Denmark for training.
