35th Annual Tivoli Fest in Iowa celebrates ‘Where Memories and Movies are Made’
Looking for something different to do for Memorial Day Weekend 2015? How about planning a visit to the Danish Villages in western Iowa?
The 35th annual Tivoli Fest in Elk Horn & Kimballton, Iowa will take place Memorial Day weekend, May 23-24, 2015. This year’s theme is “Where Memories and Movies Are Made”.
Tivoli Fest, The Danish Villages’ annual Danish celebration, is held on Memorial Day weekend each year. Enjoy Danish foods and specialties such as smørrebrød, æbleskiver and medisterpølse. Tours of the Danish Windmill, Bedstemor’s Hus, The Museum of Danish America and visits to unique gift shops add to the experience.
Including the annual Tivoli parade, Tour de Tivoli bike ride, an entertainment stage, an official Iowa Craft Beer tent, fireworks and craft vendors, there is something for everyone! The Danes of Kimballton have been folk dancing since the town began. It is the longest lasting activity of the town’s Danish heritage.
