ABOUT KEYNOTE SPEAKER GITTE PEDERSEN, FOUNDER OF GENOMIC EXPRESSION: Gitte Pedersen was born in Brazil, grew up in Denmark and immigrated to America in July 1997. She now lives in the greater New York area with her husband of 15 years. As the 125th Kickoff Anniversary keynote speaker, Gitte will inspire us with her stories of growing up and attending university in Denmark and becoming a woman leader in today’s world. Ms. Pedersen’s professional life was greatly influenced by her personal life – both her parents suffered from cancer. Deeply moved by their plight, Gitte was driven to pioneer five start-up organizations in the biochemical and pharmaceutical industries. With her brother, she is now CEO and co-founder of Genomic Expression Inc., a sequence-based diagnostics company. They are compelled to find a way to improve the chances for cancer patients with better treatment by personalizing treatment using their RNA diagnostics. Gitte has a degree in chemical engineering, worked for Novo Nordisk and advised the Danish government and a number of biotech companies, where she structured several deals with an aggregate value of +$1B. Genomic Expression was in the top 10 of the XTC competition in 2016, and she was invited to meet her hero, Richard Branson in Necker Island. Please join us to hear Gitte’s adventurous, inspiring story at the Kickoff Celebration of the Danish Home’s 125th Anniversary.
