Autumn Vacation for Kids in Denmark: Fire the cannons at Kronborg Castle!
During the autumn holidays in Helsingør, Denmark on Saturday, October 11 – Sunday, October 19, 2014, children can each day experience the shock from the Kronborg guns. And go with the soldiers into the casemates and find out how you can help defend the castle. Up at the castle, Frederik 2’s Lord Chamberlain’s spouse will show guests around and there will be a party. With a treasure map in hand, you can even find the Kronborg tax. Treasure hunt – find the Kronborg tax
Kronborg is filled with dizzying spiral staircases, dark corners and big halls. Below is the deep casemates and the castle is surrounded by bastions, moats and more. With a treasure map in hand to get around indoors and out, see if you can find Kronborg many secret treasures?
Defend Kronborg!
The year is 1658 and Swedish troops are about to break into Kronborg. A small group of brave soldiers remain who are still fighting for the castle. But they need your help! Learn how to aim a gun, go in line and fight with swords, so you can defend Kronborg! If you want to bring your own sword home, it can be purchased along with a great shield of Kronborg store. For children ages 7-12.
The King is coming! The Lord Chamberlain spouse’s busy day
Come around Kronborg with the Lord Chamberlain’s spouse just before Frederik 2’s party. Hear about the preparations for the party: The King and Queen’s own room shall be arranged with pillows and wall hangings, and the ballroom must be decorated and prepared with sandalwood for the fireplaces, so that smells great when being lit up. And don’t forget the bird cage for the Queen’s parrot! Should you be a little in love with the beautiful dresses, you can buy a nice princess costume for children at the Kronborg store. For children from 5-12 years.
Gun Salute
On Kronborg ramparts are some mighty guns. Come see them get fired and discover the huge bang they provide. Remember to cover your ears!

There are a limited number of tickets for the guided tour, so it is best to purchase tickets in advance at www.kronborg.dk.

I efterårsferien kan du hver dag opleve braget fra Kronborgs kanoner. Og gå med soldaten ned i kasematterne og hør, hvordan du kan hjælpe med at forsvare slottet. Oppe på slottet viser Frederik 2.s hofmesterinde rundt lige inden, der skal være fest og med et skattekort i hånden kan du selv finde Kronborgs skatte. Kom gerne udklædt som prinsesse eller soldat.

Skattejagt – find Kronborgs skatte
Kronborg er fyldt med svimlende vindeltrapper, mørke kroge og store sale. Nedenunder ligger de dybe kasematter og slottet er omgivet af bastioner, voldgrave og meget mere. Med et skattekort i hånden kommer du rundt ude og inde. Se om du kan finde Kronborgs mange hemmelige skatte?
Forsvar Kronborg!
Året er 1658. Svenske tropper er ved at bryde ind på Kronborg. Tilbage står en lille gruppe brave soldater, som stadig kæmper for slottet. Men de har brug for din hjælp! Lær at sigte med en kanon, gå i takt og slås med sværd, så du kan være med til at forsvare Kronborg! Hvis du får lyst til at få dit eget sværd med hjem, kan det købes sammen med et flot skjold i Kronborgs butik.

Kongen kommer! Hofmesterindens travle dag
Kom med Hofmesterinden rundt på Kronborg lige inden, at Frederik 2. skal holde fest. Hør om forberedelserne til festen: Kongeparrets egne rum skal indrettes med puder og vægtæpper, og i Dansesalen skal der være dækket op og gjort klar med sandeltræ til kaminerne, så der dufter herligt, når der bliver tændt op. Og så må man endelig ikke glemme fugleburet til dronningens papegøje!
Skulle du blive lidt forelsket i hofmesterindens fine dragt, kan du købe en fin prinsessedragt til børn i Kronborgs butik.
