The Brazilian Automobile Federation honored Tom Kristensen on the occasion of his last race as a professional driver. During the finale of the FIA World Endurance Championship WEC at São Paulo, Clayton Pinteiro, the President of the Confederação Brasileira de Automobilismo, presented the Dane with the Medalha Chico Landi. The medal is named after the first Brazilian Formula 1 driver. It is strictly limited and only selected motorsports personalities are ever awarded it. The team also thanked the nine-time Le Mans winner. On the number 1 Audi R18 e-tron quattro, the fin on the engine cover of the diesel hybrid sports car is graced with the lettering „Thanks Tom – Mister Le Mans“.
