CALIFORNIA NEWS: Reminder of GRUNDLOVSFEST this Sunday, June 1 and SANKT HANS FEST on Saturday, June 21

GRUNDLOVSFEST REMINDER ON SUNDAY, JUNE 1: The Danish National Committee of Southern California and the 13 Member Organizations would like to invite you to attend the annual GRUNDLOVSFEST this Sunday, June 1st from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM at Hacienda Park, 1885 North Hacienda Road, La Habra Heights, CA  90631.

The event celebrates Grundlovsdag, Denmark’s Constitution Day and is the largest gathering of Danes in Southern California!

Admission: 13 years and up $10 / Children $5 / under 5 Free and Free Parking

Bring your own shade. First Come-First Served for tables and chairs! They provide tables (1 per family) and chairs for approx. 300 people.
Food and Drinks: Bring your own – It’s a picnic! There will be Carlsberg Beer, Soft Drinks, Coffee and Danish Kringle Pastry available.

There will be Children’s Games, a Big Bounce House, Talent Show, Arts and Crafts Booth, Dancing, Live Music by Linda, Table Decorating Contest: “Childhood Memories”, Raffle of Valuable Prizes donated by our Generous Sponsors and Wheel of Fortune Games.

The M.C. is Kent Hanson, President, Danish National Committee, with Introductory Welcome by Honorary Consul, Torben Aaskov and the Grethe Krogh Nielsen and Family.

$1,000 Scholarships will be presented to two Students of Danish Descent.

SANKT HANS FEST INVITATION ON SATURDAY, JUNE 21ST: Please mark your calendars for Saturday, June 21st when you are  invited to the Danish American Club’s Annual SANKT HANS FEST (Mid-Summer Celebration and Witch Burning)!

The event starts at 5:30 PM with Social Time, followed by 6:30 PM Dinner and 8:30 PM Witch Burning!

The fest is held at Andy’s Garden, 11464 178th Street, Artesia, CA  90701

There will be a Barbecue Menu, featuring Smoked Brisket, Ribs, Chicken, Hot Links, Beans, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Mac N’ Cheese, Salad, Dessert, Coffee, and other barbecue favorites!

Come enjoy Raffle Prizes and Games! The price is Members – $20, Guests – $25 and Children under 8 – Free. RSVPs needed by June 18th to:
