Covenant Harbor in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin presents Road Scholar Programs, including Denmark and Scandinavia
Did you know that Covenant Harbor in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin presents Road Scholar Programs – Adventures in Lifelong Learning?
On September 22 – 26, 2013, a program on Denmark will be presented, and Scotland will be featured on October 27 – 31, 2013.
These programs are advertised as “Your Country-by-Country Passport to the World”. Participants take interactive learning adventures that educate much more than armchair travelogues. Each of these virtual journeys provides an array of rewards with highlights of history, heritage, literature, language, lore, music, and food – all without leaving the USA.
DANISH PROGRAM PLANNED FOR SEPTEMBER 22 – 26, 2013
Many consider the Danes to be the happiest people on the Earth. This southernmost country in Scandinavia’s history is tied to the sea. Study the Viking culture and Denmark’s history of military skirmishes with Sweden and Germany. Delve into WWII history and Denmark’s organized resistance to save its Jews. Consider modern Danish design and works by noted authors Isak Dinesen and Hans Christian Andersen.
Covenant Harbor is located 1724 W. Main Street, Lake Geneva, WI 53147. Nestled into 50 wooded acres along the shores of Geneva Lake, the Geneva Bay Centre offers the comfort of a hotel in a retreat setting. With lodging under the same roof as the meeting and dining rooms, the program is self-contained and easily navigated.
