Danish American Women’s Club of San Francisco and the Bay Area celebrates 80th Christmas Luncheon – Join Us in 2016
DAWC’s 80th Christmas luncheon was held on Thursday, December 10th, 2015 at Crystal Springs Wedgewood Banquet Center in Burlingame, California. Danish carols played in the background as members and guests enter the room. The Christmas tree and festive holiday decor put everyone in the mood to celebrate. President Mary Ann Sorensen recounted the first ten Christmas luncheons that began in 1935 and recited “Is There a Santa Claus” just as it was done in 1942. A raffle was held with donated prizes for the many lucky winners. Christmas carols in Danish/English were sung too. The festive afternoon ended with the introduction of the 2016 officers that will be installed on January 14th at the Basque Cultural Center in South San Francisco. Guests are welcome at all luncheons. If you would like to attend next month’s luncheon, please call Mary Ann at (650) 573-5725.
