Danish Athletes Compete at 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia

Denmark sends 12 athletes to Sochi to take part in curling, cross-country & alpine skiing
The Danish Men’s Curling Team is currently in the middle of the pack during the intense competition at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. The Danish men have beat Russia 11-10 and Sweden 8-5, but the male curlers have lost to China 4-7, to the USA 5-9 and to Canada 6-7.
The Danish Women’s Curling Team has been struggling and has lost its first five matches, including losses to Russia 4-7, Switzerland 6-7, Japan 3-8, Canada 5-8 and Sweden 6-7.
In addition to its men’s and women’s curling teams, Denmark has sent alpine skier Christoffer Faarup and cross-country skier Martin Møller to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, which take place from February 7 – 23.
The Danish Men’s Curling Team competing in the 2014 Winter Olympics includes Rasmus Stjerne (Skip), Johnny Frederiksen (Vice Skip), Mikkel Poulsen (2nd), Troels Harry (Lead) and Lars Vilandt (Reserve).
The Danish Women’s Curling Team includes Lene Nielsen (Skip), Helle Simonsen (Vice Skip), Jeanne Ellegaard (2nd & Vice), Maria Poulsen (Lead) and Mette de Neergaard (Reserve).
Lene Nielsen, the Danish curling team captain, was the Danish flag bearer in the Opening Ceremony on February 7, 2014.
