Danish Brotherhood Lodge #35 of Chicago gearing up for a busy 2015

Danish Brotherhood Denmark Lodge #35 of Chicago meets on the third Friday of each month at the Harald Viking Lodge, 6730 W. 175th Street, Tinley Park, Illinois at 7:30 pm (unless otherwise specified). New members are always welcome! Dues are only $10 per year or $20 for a family!

The January Meeting is a “Holiday Social” and will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.  A lot of things are going on at the meeting. So come out and enjoy the meeting. Afterward enjoy some coffee and open-faced sandwiches. Bring some pictures of your Holidays to share with everyone.

February’s Meeting will include the celebration of Fastelavn (meeting starts a half an hour early on Friday, February 20, 2015).

March is the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration. The lodge will have some corned beef open-faced sandwiches, plus some regular open-faced sandwiches. Make sure you wear your green on Friday, March 20, 2015.

Danish Brotherhood Lodge #35 would like to thank Carol Vashinko and her helpers for a great job on the Anniversary Dinner Dance in November.

Then, in December, the Christmas Party was great!!! Santa came and wished everyone a Merry Christmas. The Kids had FUN. Thank you all for bringing gifts for the children in the Hospital.

Danish Brotherhood Lodge #35 offers Scholarships to its members, and it is time to get your Scholarship forms for college 2015 – 2016. The forms need to be sent in by June 1, 2015. The second half of the Scholarship for 2014-2015 will be handed out during the January meeting hope to see you there. It would be nice to see all scholarship applicants at the Frikadeller Dinner on Friday, May 15, 2015, so we may see the faces of those who we are supporting. This Frikadeller Dinner is one of the lodge’s Fundraisers for the Scholarship.

The lodge continues its Pantry Drive for member Gail Henson’s church. Donations of Food, Paper Products, Laundry Soap, Fabric Sheets, Dish Soap and Personal Items are welcome. Please also continue to collect Box Tops from General Mills products, Campbell soup bar codes, Pop Tabs and Cancelled Stamps.

Dues are Due for 2015. Family is $20.00 / Single $10.00. Please make your Check to D.B.I.A. Lodge 35 and mail your check to Ray Nielsen, 1227 Olive Road, Homewood, Il. 60430. If you can, please have all dues paid by January 16, 2015.
