Danish Sisterhood holds After-Christmas Party in Illinois and gets ready for Fastelavns Party and Winter Luncheon in 2014

Despite all of the snow and cold hitting the Chicago area this winter, Shar and Paul Roge had a full house when they hosted the Danish Sisterhood Dagmar Lodge #4’s After-Christmas Party on Saturday, January 4, 2014 in Northbrook, Illinois.

Lodge President Bente Rasmussen says, “As usual their home was beautifully decorated for the holidays. It is so cozy (hyggeligt). Everyone brought delicious food for appetizers, for the buffet table and sweets for dessert. All of this was served with beer, wine, soda or a lovely punch.”

Lodge #4 is preparing for another busy year with meetings and events.

FASTELAVN CELEBRATION IS SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2014

On Sunday, February 16, 2014, Danish Sisterhood Dagmar Lodge #4 members will try something new for the family and join the Danish American Athletic Club for its Fastelavn Celebration. The Sisterhood will have a short meeting at 1 p.m. and then the Fastelavn Celebration will take place from 2  p.m. – 5 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 15 Hickory, Arlington Heights, IL.

There will be Fastelavns Ris, Costume Parade, and Slå katten af tønden (DAAC has a real barrel). Fastelavns boller, coffee and juice will be served. The event is FREE to members and friends. WINTER LUNCHEON IS SUNDAY, MARCH 2, 2014

On Sunday, March 2nd, 2014 at 12:30 p.m., Danish Sisterhood Dagmar Lodge No. 4 Chicago will hold its Annual Winter Luncheon at The Svithiod Hall, 5516 West Lawrence Ave, Chicago, IL (Just east of Central Ave; yellow brick building on north side of street).

Cost for Luncheon:  $13.00 Adults, Children $6.00. The menu includes: Appetizer, frikadeller (Danish meatballs), potatoes and gravy, red cabbage, rolls and dessert.

On Saturday, March 29, 2014, the Midwest District Convention with the Danish Brotherhood and Sisterhood will be held in Tinley Park, Illinois.
