Denmark on high alert following two separate shootings

Following the shooting at the Krudttønden Cafe in Copenhagen, Denmark on February 14, Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt said, “Denmark has today been hit by a cynical act of violence. Everything indicates that the shooting in Østerbro was a political assassination, and thus an act of terrorism. My thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the victims and their relatives. The police are on full alert across the country. All resources are deployed. The authorities’ first priority here and now is to catch the perpetrators. Immediately after reports of the shooting, the National Operative Task Force came together under the leadership of the National Police. The government is closely following developments. The shooting assassination is an act which fills me with deep anger. Everything will be put in motion to find the culprits and bring them to justice. I encourage everyone to support the work of authorities. We face some difficult days when our unity will be tested. But in Denmark we will never bow to the violence. ”
Copenhagen Police works to catch shooter
Copenhagen Police continue to work hard to catch the perpetrator of the attack shooting, including releasing surveillance images. “We are on high alert and there will be exceptional staff and police presence in Copenhagen all night. Investigations are also continuing at full stretch in collaboration with PET and the police. We currently have no decisive news to tell in relation to the briefing I gave earlier in the evening,” said senior police inspector Jørgen Skov. Copenhagen Police asks any witnesses to to call 114.

Krudttønden: Only one perpetrator
The preliminary statements indicate that there was only one perpetrator of the shooting at Krudttønden. This photo is of a man, who shortly after the escape car was abandoned at Borgervænget 25, passed in front of a camera in the area. Copenhagen Police would very much like to come in contact with this man, or witnesses who have seen or recognize him.
If you have information please call 114 and not 112, which is only to be used if someone sees the perpetrator right here and now!
The Danish National Police is the Danish Police’s highest authority. It is the Danish National Police’s task to set the direction for all Danish Police, that is to say: formulate strategies, support work in the police districts and coordinate the police’s work at the national level. There are approximately 14,000 personnel at the police, of which 11,000 are policemen and policewomen.
Second shooting in Krystalgade
During a second shooting in the early morning of February 15, 2015 in Krystalgade in Copenhagen, Denmark, a person was hit by shots to the head, and two police officers were hit by gunfire respectively arm and leg.
It is still too early to say whether the shooting is related to the February 14 shooting at Krudttønden. The perpetrator fled on foot from the site. The police have the following description of person on the offender, described as: Male, wearing black pants and black shoes. He was also wearing a light gray jacket with multi-colored light fields. Copenhagen Police have currently no more information.
STORY IN DANISH:
Politiet er i fuldt beredskab over hele landet.
