Grundlovsfest in California held each June

Danish Constitution Day – Grundlovsfest – is held each June in California. Stay tuned for this year’s date.

Grundlovsfest is Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the Danish Cultural Center in Yorba Linda, California, 9 – 5 pm. As in previous years, big tents will be set-up so everybody has a shady spot and seating. About 300 people are expected for the day-long festivities for the whole family, bring your favorite food. This year’s “Theme” is “Go For The Gold” closely related to Danish sports and the World Soccer Cup. Denmark will participate against the best soccer nations in the World, this year in Russia in June/July. The Grundlovs Fest is from 9 am-5 pm, with music, entertainment and games throughout the day. Hot-Dogs, beer, soda, coffee and pastry will be for sale. Raffle prizes, there are at least 50 prizes, also Table Decoration prizes for best looking table, best if it is related it to the “Theme”. For the kids, Jump House Fun, Wheel O Fortune and a talent contest, maybe also a kids “Petting Zoo”. Opening ceremonies at 12 Noon. The entrance fee is only $5.00 pers. Parking mostly across the street.

On Sat. June 23, the Danish American Club will celebrate Sankte Hans, with a Midsummer Fest, in the Danish Cultural Center. Enjoy the evening with a dinner and refreshments, singing, and after dark, a small bon-fire. Families invited.

1 FRI—The Danish Soldiers Club, meeting 11 am, followed by lunch, the Alamo
3 SUN–Grundlovsfest Celebration, the Danish Cultural Center, Yorba Linda.
8 FRI—The LA Naver Club, 5pm social, dinner & meeting. Hulen in Monrovia.
10 SUN– Princess Marie Sisterhood, social & lunch 2 pm, Aase’s house in Burbank.
12 TUE—The Danish Brotherhood, lunch meeting with open face sandwiches, the Alamo
16 SAT—World Cup Soccer 9am, watch Denmark/Peru Cultural Center, food, refreshments.
18 MON–The Danish Lunch Club, social 10:30 am, Lunch 11:30 am, meeting.
23 SAT—Danish American Club, Midsummer Fest, Danish Cultural Center, YL
24-27th–Summer Camp for the kids, Danish Church & Cultural Center
