About Jensen & Bugge Duo

The duo JENSEN & BUGGE has played together for 12 years, despite their young age. They have been touring in the States for 8 years. They last played no less than 14 concerts featuring accordion player Dwight Lamb of Onawa, Iowa. Again in May this year they toured with Dwight in the Midwest and in October the duo is back on the road in the Pacific Nothwest!

Both Mette and Kristian have won coveted Danish Music Award Folk prizes (Danish Grammy). In 2007 Mette Kathrine Jensen was awarded traditional artist of the year, and in 2006 at the same event Kristian Bugge received the awards for debut and instrumentalist of the year! Recently the duo received the “Traditional Music Award” at Danish Music Award Folk ceremony in November 2012!

Mette and Kristian have known each other since they were kids when they lived 3 kilometers from each other – near Vejle, Jutland, Denmark. Since then, they have played for lots of dances and concerts in Denmark and many other countries, such as USA, Canada, Faroe Islands, Norway, Sweden, Finland, South Korea and Poland.

The duo has extensive experience in playing for dancing, both together and separately or with other musicians, as well as teaching workshops and playing lots of concerts in many countries.

The DVD, “Project Dialect“, was released in 2010 and was the first release in the name of JENSEN & BUGGE! After that followed the CDs: “Sea and Land” and “Dwight Lamb, Jensen & Bugge Live in Denmark 2010” all of which are for sale at gigs and available straight from the record company at www.folkshop.dk
