Julmarknad, Scandinavian Christmas Bazaar, set for Swedish American Museum in Chicago on December 5 and 6, 2015

Here is a list of the Swedish American Museum’s December 2015 events:

Friday, December 4, 4 to 10 p.m.: Late Night Andersonville hours in local stores and Julmarknad Preview Sale in the Museum.
Saturday, December 5, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, December 6, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Julmarknad, the Museum’s annual Christmas Bazaar of traditional Scandinavian items and modern handicrafts; entertainment includes Lucia processions and folk dancers.
Friday, December 11, 11:30 a.m.: St. Lucia Day at the Daley Center with candidates representing Swedish-American organizations in the Chicago area.
Saturday and Sunday, December 12-13, 9 a.m.: Breakfast with Tomten, the Swedish Santa, including pancake breakfast, traditional crafts and dancing around the Christmas tree.
Sunday, December 13, 1 to 3:30 p.m.: Scandinavian Jam with Mary Allsop and Paul Tyler; participants are encouraged to bring instruments to share tunes and join the music making.
Sunday, December 13, 4:45 p.m.: St. Lucia commemoration begins with a procession from the Museum, a 5 p.m. program, and 7 p.m. celebration at Ebenezer Lutheran Church with songs and readings.
Friday, December 18, 11 a.m.: Hejsan, a story and craft program for children of all ages, based on “The Tomten” by Astrid Lindgren.
Friday, December 18, 6 to 10 p.m.: Late-er Night Andersonville, one more opportunity for Christmas gift shopping, with entertainment and refreshments.
Sunday, December 20, 4 p.m.: Svensk Julgudstjanst, a traditional Christmas service in Swedish at Ebenezer Lutheran Church.
Sunday, December 20, 5 p.m.: Traditional Swedish Christmas family smorgasbord dinner catered by Tre Kronor, with gifts for children from Tomten, a Lucia procession and dancing around the tree.
