Master LEGO Builder heads to 36th Annual Norsk Høstfest in Minot, North Dakota
Dan Parker brings the historic Danish LEGO creations and techniques to the largest Scandinavian festival in North America.
Remember those plastic LEGO blocks you used to play with as a kid? Some people have turned their childhood hobby into businesses. Because of Statoil, a Norwegian oil company and partner of Norsk Høstfest, you’ll meet one of them at the festival.
Dan Parker, Professional LEGO builder from Seattle, will share his expertise in two ways for Høstfest.
First, he’ll lead LEGO Camp September 28 and 29, 2013 as part of the Scandinavian Youth Camps program. During this camp, fourth grade students will have the opportunity to work on defined projects.
Then, at Høstfest, there will be a nonstructured play area for anyone would like to try their LEGO skills, together with a display of several LEGO creations that will leave you wondering how on earth people could think of and build such elaborate structures from small plastic blocks.
Some of the projects Parker has been involved with include a 400,000-piece Christmas exhibit and a 10-foot Statue of Liberty. Got you wondering what he’ll create for Høstfest? Come on out and see!
