
OBITUARY: In Memory of Sally Hoppe of Illinois, 1936 – 2015
It is with great sadness that we inform you of Sally Hoppe’s passing. Sally, 78, was very active in the Danish Sisterhood of America Dagmar Lodge #4 of Chicago, an energetic and positive lady who always brought joy, creativity and optimism to all of the Sisterhood events. Sally was also very active in Dania Ladies Society, most recently as the group’s Sunshine Lady and always with a smile on her face. She was a wonderful friend and she will be missed by all. Our heartfelt condolences go to her husband Ron and her family.
Sally, who was born on December 23, 1936, passed away on July 18, 2015. Sally leaves behind her beloved husband of 52 years, Ron Hoppe Sr. Sally is survived by her children Patrick (Sharon), Linda (Mark) Barba, Ron Jr., John (Pam), and Debbie (Hoppe) Baran. She is the proud grandmother of Kelly, Erin, Brendan, Dana, Julia and Heather. Sally was an active member of the Danish community: Past President and Events Coordinator for Danish Sisterhood/Dagmar Lodge 4, Sunshine Lady for Dania Society, Secretary for Danish Old Settlers Society, Delegate for Danish National Committee, Member of Women’s Auxiliary of the Danish Home Board, Member of Rebild National Park Society/Chicago Midwest Chapter, and Member of Bjornson Ladies Auxiliary. A memorial service will be held to honor Sally’s life at Olson Burke/Sullivan Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6471 Northwest Highway, Chicago, IL 60631. Visitation/Service will be held Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 9:30AM-11:30 AM with the memorial service taking place at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Danish Home of Chicago, 5656 Newcastle Ave., Chicago, IL.
