POPULAR NAMES: The Danish boys on Jutland are called Magnus
Among Denmark’s 1-to 9-year-old children, the highest number are called Emma and William. But looking at individual regions, there are some other names that occupy the first places for the ages, according to Statistics Denmark.
The parents of the 1-to 9-year-old boys in Jutland have a fondness for the name Magnus. In South Denmark, Mid Jutland and North Jutland, the name Magnus is the most popular name if you are under 10 years old. In the Capital Region, it is William, which ranks first as the most used name, while parents in Zealand Region are most fond of the name Oliver.
Parents of girls in the same age group in Zealand, Southern Denmark and North Jutland have Emma as the preferred name while most parents in Mid Jutland have called their daughter Ida in that age group. In the Capital, it is most likely that the parents chose the name Anna.
Most named Anne and Peter in the country: Across all age groups and regions, you find most Danes with the names Peter and Anne. 49,550 Danish men are named Peter, while 46,690 women are named Anne.
The name Anne is the most used in the Capital Region, Southern Jutland and Central Jutland, but more people with the name Kirsten are in the Region Zealand and North Jutland.
Among men in Central Jutland and North Jutland, most are named Jens. In the Capital Region, most men are named Peter, while Michael is the winner in Region Zealand and Hans in Southern Denmark.
But note, even though many Danes share first names, three out of four Danes actually have unique name combinations.

Blandt landets 1-9-årige børn er der flest, der hedder Emma og William. Men ser man på de enkelte regioner, er det nogle andre navne, der indtager første pladserne for aldersgruppen.
Forældrene til de 1-9-årige drenge i Jylland har en forkærlighed for navnet Magnus. Både i Region Syddanmark, Midtjylland og Nordjylland er Magnus nemlig det mest populære navn, hvis man er under 10 år gammel. I Region Hovedstaden er det William, der indtager førstepladsen som mest brugte navn, mens forældre i Region Sjælland er gladest for navnet Oliver.
Forældre til piger i samme aldersgruppe i Region Sjælland, Syddanmark og Nordjylland har Emma som det foretrukne navn, mens flest forældre i Midtjylland har kaldt deres datter i den alder for Ida. I Hovedstaden er der størst sandsynlighed for, at forældrene har valgt navnet Anna.
