Scholarships available for 2014 Danish Language Village – Skovsøen – in Minnesota
For Summer 2014, Concordia Language Villages has scheduled the one, two and four-week sessions for Skovsøen, the Danish Language Village, in Bemidji, Minnesota. ONE-WEEK SESSION IS JUNE 30 – JULY 5, 2014
Villagers in one-week sessions explore language and culture through an introductory immersion experience featuring games, sports, crafts, music, outdoor activities, etc. Emphasis is on listening comprehension and speaking. Open to all proficiency levels.

Villagers in two-week sessions gain and enhance language and culture skills through an immersion experience embedded in daily life and featuring games, sports, crafts, music, outdoor activities, etc. Emphasis is on listening comprehension and speaking. Open to all proficiency levels.
This session attends International Day.
Optional Adventure Program
De Cyklende Danskere Because the Danes love to be out in naturen (nature), the Danish Language Village offers this exciting group bicycling trip! You will ride a bike on various terrains, explore nature, and stay overnight at Bemidji State Park. Learn about the role of bicycles in Danish culture, become more a competent and safer cyclist, and improve your Danish language skills. The Paul Bunyan Trail and connecting routes offer a safe environment for participants to foster a life-long connection to language learning and bicycling culture. The beautiful scenery along the forest bike trails make the trip a favorite adventure for villagers at Skovsøen. The program is co-ed for villagers aged 13-18 with beginning to advanced Danish language skills.

FOUR-WEEK SESSION IS JUNE 16 – JULY 12, 2014
Villagers in four-week high school credit-bearing sessions gain an academic year’s worth of language and culture skills through an immersion experience embedded in daily life, featuring a variety of cultural activities as well as formal study and assessment (minimum of 180 instructional hours; accredited by North Central Association). Emphasis is on literacy and oracy. Open to all proficiency levels.
