Swedish recording artist Peter Nordberg and ABBA Salute to perform at 2014 Scandinavian Day Festival in Illinois

Swedish recording artist Peter Nordberg will be performing at the Scandinavian Day Festival at Vasa Park, Route 31, South Elgin, Illinois on Sunday, September 7, 2014. He is scheduled to take the stage at 3 p.m.

The Scandinavian Day Festival will run from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. this year.

According to the entertainer’s website www.peternordberg.com, “Peter Nordberg was barely 19 years old when he got the chance to sign his first recording deal in Italy. His music was hailed with an outstanding reception in Norway, where he even managed to surpass many local performers in popularity. In 1999, Peter released “Tiden Visar Vägen”, followed by 2 solo albums and 3 more releases in collaboration with Norwegian artist Vidar Johnsen. The prolific collaboration sparked several gold and platinum albums in Norway, with frequent radio play and local Grammy nominations. Then, Peter set out to get back to his homeland, Sweden, where he released “Här i Nord”, an album that was received as well in both Sweden and Norway, placing Peter Nordberg as one of the strong acts within the Scandinavian music scene. Currently, after the release of the EP Hellre i det blå, Peter is working on an upcoming studio album and tour.”

ABBA Salute is back by popular demand at the Scandinavian Day Festival and will entertain at 5 p.m.

According to the group’s website, “ABBA Salute is quite literally the most accurate tribute band in the country. With painstaking attention to detail, they’ve recreated an ABBA experience that won’t soon be forgotten. Fronted by two dynamic ladies with angelic voices and backed by a group of world class musicians, the music of the greatest pop band in history comes to life in a Las Vegas style show that mesmerizes the viewer, young and old alike.”
