Tips for Shopping Online – Whether in Denmark or the USA

According to Statistics Denmark, the Internet has become widely popular in the everyday life of the Danes – and the mobile phone is increasingly used for this purpose. Seven out of ten mobile phone owners use their mobile phone when they browse the Internet. When the Danes use the Internet for buying goods and services, it is mainly tickets for cultural events or journeys. Using the Internet for buying clothes is also popular among women. 61% of all women bought clothes on the Internet in 2014.

In the United States, E-commerce now accounts for more than $304 billion in spending, according to The National Retail Federation State of Retailing Online. That’s millions of shoppers online searching for billions of dollars of products.

According to Coupon Cabin founder and CEO Scott Kluth, here are Thirteen Tips to Get the Best Bang for Your Buck When Shopping Online. With Halloween coming up in the USA, the National Retail Federation says that nearly half (49%) of ghosts, goblins and ghouls search online for their holiday costumes, decorations and party supplies as part of $6.9 billion in total expected Halloween spending.

Thirteen Tips to Get the Best Bang for Your Buck When Shopping Online
1. Don’t checkout without a coupon code This should be a no-brainer for shoppers today. At checkout, never leave your discount code section empty – promotional codes can save you money and are easy to find if you tap the right site for up-to-date coupon codes.
2. Stack coupon codes – Certain coupons can be combined with other discounts and offers. Find out which ones have this flexibility to add in more bang for your buck.
3. Comparison shop – The biggest benefit of online shopping is having the freedom to explore and compare options – all from the comfort of your home or your mobile device. If you’re making an important purchase, do your research before checking out. For smaller purchases, make your decision process easier by starting with an online portal for coupons and cashback – you’ll usually get a better deal, without a lot of extra digging.
4. Do the math – combine coupons with cashback – Aggregating multiple discounts and offers together has never been simpler. Visit an online coupon and cashback portal, register and see combined offers automatically via a plug-in that displays a banner with discount options as you browse different retailers.
5. Be careful when purchasing refurbished goods – Buying secondhand sometimes means the price can be too good to be true. With overwhelming options on sites like Ebay and Amazon, you might want to compare and contrast the cost to purchase new by leveraging combined coupons and cashback options instead.
6. Snag cashback every time you shop – If you activate cashback on sites such as CouponCabin, you’ll not only receive coupons to lower the total cost at checkout, you’ll also automatically get a portion of the dollar value of your purchase back – in the form of a check, as often as once a month. Easy as that.
7. Always use a cashback credit card – Click once. Save twice is only the beginning. Earn and redeem points, miles and other rewards on transactions that are in tandem with other discounts. Research the different credit card providers with the goal to find the right plastic that reflects the best discounts for your shopping and lifestyle preferences. Discounts on discounts on discounts is the name of the game with online shopping today!
8. Enroll in loyalty programs – Don’t leave anything on the table: loyalty programs are a great way to be the first to know about savings, sales and special offers. These points are in addition to other rebates, cashback programs or online coupons offered by discount sites.
9. The best coupons come out at the end of the month – As companies manage inventory flows, they’ll adjust discounts to offer available stock at the best deal possible in the final days of a calendar month. The last three days, to be precise, are where you’ll see the best offers pop up.
10. Check coupon codes sites often – Discounts change often, so be sure you’re equipped with fresh options for the best deals. The average duration for a coupon to last online is one week, at which point retailers replace them with other offers.
11. Shop early – Popular coupons mean surges in orders, so online inventory depletes more quickly. Get yours in while deals are hot.
12. Move in-store purchases to online for better discounts – Shopping at brick-and-mortar stores can be charming during the holidays, but can also cause a lot of stress and hassle. If you’re battling the crowds this holiday, window shop – and then transfer your collective knowledge on savings over to online purchasing, where you’ll be sure to get the best deal around.
13. Beware of sales tax implications when shopping online – Regulations differ by state sales taxes in the USA when a company doesn’t have a physical presence in the state where product is being sold. This creates some ambiguity about how to pay taxes on certain online purchases. Be sure to track which sites don’t tack on sales tax, since it’ll be up to you then to make up the difference to file the taxes.
