VIEW PICTURES & VIDEO: Celebrating summer at the 2014 Rebild Festival in Denmark
Rebild National Park Society – the Danish-American Friendship Organization established in 1912 – presents the Rebild 4th of July Festival in the Rebild Hills of Denmark each year. The Rebild Festival is the biggest celebration of the American Independence Day outside of the USA, of which the Rebild National Park Society is very proud.
If you have never been to the Rebild Festival (or if you have), now is your chance to see what the special celebration of freedom and friendship is all about.
You can view many wonderful professional and colorful images capturing the 2014 Danish-American festival in a brief slideshow at Rebild’s website at www.rebildfesten.dk and TV 2 Nord Denmark captured the day in video.
See the link here. In addition, The Danish Pioneer Newspaper has featured Rebild on its front page the past two issues.
On the Rebild website, you can see the children eagerly exercising with the DGI World Team before the Rebild Festival.
View the crowd of 580 guests gathering for the Rebild tent luncheon before the big Rebild Festival.
See the large Danish Sisterhood tour group pictured with U.S. Ambassador to Denmark Rufus Gifford and American guest speaker Malena Belafonte.
At the Rebild Tent Luncheon, Rebild National President Jesper Jespersen presented Rebild shields to guest speakers Malena Belafonte, Rufus Gifford, A.P. Moller-Maersk CEO Nils Smedegaard Andersen and Peter Orum, who brought greetings from the Danes in the USA.
At the Rebild website, view all of the family gatherings and festivities in the Rebild Hills on July 4, 2014 and see the guest speakers, entertainers and DGI World Team on the main stage. The Aalborg Police Orchestra and the popular Anne Linnet & Band entertained.
In addition to the above-mentioned guest speakers, Karin Faerlov Christensen was the capable Master of Ceremonies and Heidi Bisgaard expertly led community singing, while Danish Minister of Economic Affairs Margrethe Vestager brought greetings from the Danish government. The festival in the Rebild Hills itself this year gathered 2,500-3,000 guests for the warm and sunny Friday afternoon.
Special thanks go to all of the staff, board members, chapter presidents, members, volunteers and participants for their fantastic input into the 2014 Rebild Festival. This year’s Rebild Festival was characterized by an atmosphere of celebration and summer. Everyone is already looking forward to July 4, 2015 – which will be a SATURDAY! Please mark your calendars and visit www.rebildfesten.dk!
