We’re still celebrating Christmas in Chicago & planning for 2015
With the multitude of activities and holiday events filling up the calendar in December, Danish Sisterhood Dagmar Lodge #4 in Chicago decided some years ago to hold an “After-Christmas Party” instead in early January.
While this festive gathering stretches the Christmas season out just a little longer, it is also a great way for the local community to catch up from the holidays and kick off the new year in a joyful and celebratory way.
After the lack of snow so far in December in the Chicago area, the weather forecasters are even predicting a wintry mix for the weekend.
For the past many years, the “After-Christmas Party” has been held at Paul and Shar Roge’s beautiful home in Northbrook, Illinois with a delicious potluck buffet for members and their spouses.
Danish Sisterhood Dagmar Lodge #4, which celebrates its 130th anniversary in 2015, has a busy start to the new year planned, including:
Saturday, January 3, 2015: After-Christmas Party at the Roges in Northbrook, IL.
Sunday, January 25, 2015: Basket Arranging Demonstration at Bente Rasmussen’s home in Libertyville, IL.
Sunday, February 8, 2015: Danish Sisterhood Meeting and Fastelavn’s Party together with the Danish American Athletic Club at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Arlington Heights, IL.
Sunday, March 1, 2015: Winter Luncheon at the Svithiod Hall in Chicago.
Everyone is welcome to join the Danish Sisterhood! New members are always welcome!
