Some Highlights on the Tour:

Amalienborg Palace – The Winter Residence of the Royal Family

Amalienborg is the Royal Family’s main residence and consists of four similar palaces. Dating back to the 18th century, they represent a highlight in Danish Rococo architecture. The museum in Christian VIII’s Palace presents the private interiors of the most recent kings and queens, and an exhibit on the monarchy in the 21st century and its many fascinating traditions.

Christiansborg Palace – Royal Palace and Seat of Power

The Royal Family lived in the impressive palace until a fire in 1794, and it is still used by the Queen for state dinners, banquets and receptions.

The glamorous royal apartments are richly decorated with works of art, chandeliers, gold and marble. The Royal Family’s magnificent white horses and gold state coaches are kept behind the palace between the marble columns of the Royal Stables.

Rosenborg Castle – Denmark’s Royal Treasure House

The summer hermitage was built by Christian IV in the 17th century and became his favoured residence. Here you can experience 300 years of the history of the Danish kings, and see the pomp and circumstance they surrounded themselves with. The heavily guarded crown jewels and royal crowns sparkle in the treasury beneath the castle.

The guide also takes you to The Marble Church, The Royal Danish Theatre, Holmen’s Church, The Caritas Well, The Church of our Lady, The Round Tower and The King’s Garden.
